December 15, 2005Casa UpdateDear Family and Friends, Again, yet another year is coming to an end. What an intense year this has been for so many people; with hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados and floods. It seems our faith is being tested on so many levels. We have been so blessed here at Casa de Milagros. Hermelinda and Yelmo were both hospitalized with pneumonia, but they have come through just fine and are getting stronger by the day- Our soup kitchen, Sopa Del Dia, is now feeding 85 children and 7 elderly. After several attempts at getting the garden going, with a few mishaps, like a cow and chicken invading and a water shortage, the garden has now been successfully planted and protected. The rain seems to be going good and will keep this crop healthy. Our organic gardens at the home are beautiful. Allen keeps the greenhouse full of beautiful tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and all of the starters for the outside garden. We have completed Hanaq Pacha Retreat Centre and are ready to receive retreats. It is absolutely beautiful with five tipi cabins, our main lodge and a double cabin in progress. The organic food is growing and there are flowers everywhere. We at Casa de Milagros would like to thank all of our family, friends, and volunteers who have helped mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially this past year. There are just too many of you to name, but you know who you are. We know how blessed we are to have our needs met and to be healthy and happy. We wish the same for all of you for this New Year coming, health, happiness, prosperity, love and laughter. Thank you again for all of your loving support.
