Blue Planet Run Organization description:Blue Planet Run Foundation provides funding to water projects worldwide and is constantly striving to build awareness about the number one most critical resource...water. Our goal is to provide safe drinking water to 200 million people by 2027. Through an innovative and highly efficient model called the Peer Water Exchange, www.peerwater.org, non-profits can learn from one another through a peer review process. The system ensures more of the money goes directly to the projects. Each project lead can communicate with other projects - to avoid making the same mistakes or to celebrate successes collectively! The general public can see all the projects online along with photos and status. In 2007, 21 Blue Planet Run athletes completed the first ever around-the-world relay which covered 15,200 miles. These athletes ran for 95 consecutive days! Check out our videos documenting this momentous occasion at www.blueplanetrun.org or read about it in our award-winning book, Blue Planet Run. The Blue Planet Run Foundation works with schools on community service projects and supports groups that want to organize fun-runs/walks and other activities to raise awareness and money to support our 24 water project members. To date, we have supported over 150 projects in more than 15 countries. We also organize runs and virtual campaigns that anybody can join. We recently held the BPR 24-Hour Trail Relay in Black Mountain, N.C. Join our mailing list to get updates on the latest events and programs. Whether you are an athlete, a water advocate or a student looking for a cause, the Blue Planet Run team can help you help bring safe drinking water to people all over the world. $30 provides a lifetime of clean drinking water to one person. ![]() Contact:Sabrina Walasek Program Director Blue Planet Run Foundation 500 Sansome Street, Suite 205 San Francisco, CA 94111 General Phone 415-762-4340 www.blueplanetrun.org |
